Helgoland (ap). Die Nordseeinsel Helgoland ist als eine der letzten Gemeinden Deutschlands an das bundesweite Stromnetz angeschlossen worden. Der schleswig-holsteinische Ministerpräsident Peter Harry Carstensen nahm am Montag das 30?000-Volt-Seekabel in Betrieb, das die Insel mit dem 53 Kilometer entfernten Ort St. Peter-Ording verbindet. Bisher wurde der Strom für Helgoland mit alten Dieselaggregaten erzeugt.
